English info
Boomtown, Thé pop- and rockfestival during the Gentse Feesten, will try again this year to provide musical depth and internationalization. Boomtown programmes coiniciding in- and outdoor concerts for 5 days – from Tuesday the 19th till Saturday the 23th of July. The 3 outdoor stages on the Kouter are reserved for (inter)national bands that know how to combine quality with a large public appeal. The two indoor stages inside the Handelsbeurs Concert-venue will be reserved for specialised genres and niche-acts, both national and international. The concert-venue will serve as a place for pop-, rock- or alternative music that thrives best in an intimite setting, including a small inner-stage that will be reserved for acoustic and solo-acts.
The collaboration between Boomtown and Alles Kan, which provides opportunities for young musicians and artists, will be further expanded this year. The Alles Kan-acts will be incorporated in the regular lineup and will be offered a spot on the stage that’s the most suitable for each act. By doing this, Boomtown creates five full-fledged stages, each with its own lineup that exists of both professional acts and acts with the Alles Kan-label.
The concerts on the Kouter are free. Income for the concerts in the Handelsbeurs is 2 drink-coins per concert. There is no presale, which means you have to be on time because full = full.
The entire program can be found in the ‘lineup’ section.

By car
There’s a paying underground parking underneath the Kouter. Obviously the same full=full rule applies here. At night it’s not advisory to head into the city nor the festive area by car. You’d be advised to opt for one of the parking zones outside the party zone. You can find these via www.gentsefeesten.be or in the special Gentse Feesten folder (available in the Lijnshop or, during the Gentse Feesten, in the infocentre of Stad Gent on the Sint-Baafsplein).
